The Town Council each year precepts (taxes) it parishioners so that it has sufficient money to carry outs its programme each year. This money is collected as part of the council tax paid to the Forest of Dean District Council. The District Council then transfer the precept back to the Council on an half yearly basis.
Consequently the Town Councils funds are its parishioners funds therefore it is imperative that all transactions are open to scrutiny by the public.
