Cllr Sue Merrikin – Mayor

Representing Coleford Central
Background Information:
I have enjoyed living in Coleford and have always appreciated the close community feeling that exists within the parish.
Being a parent has given me the opportunity to be involved in the education system that exists in Coleford, having served as a Parent Governor at Lakers School in past years.
As a family we never take for granted the natural beauty of the surrounding area and the importance of preserving it.
We feel very fortunate to be able to enjoy the Forest and have been active in voice to maintain the woodlands and the heritage that exists.
I work for the 2gether NHS Trust, helping adults with severe and enduring mental health to achieve and maintain a recovery in their illness.
Represents Council:
Represents the Council on the Amenities, Finance/Office and Public Safety Committees.
As Mayor Sue is entitled to attend all committee meetings .
Achievements aimed for Town:
Youth provision is at the top of my agenda followed by provision of health, transport and education to meet the existing community’s needs. To be part of a forward thinking council that recognises change is important to be able to survive and deliver services to an ever changing interactive population.
