Cllr Nick Penny
I have been a resident of Coleford for the vast majority of my life, moving away only briefly to study and for initial post graduate employment. Since permanently basing myself back in Coleford in 1999 I have been actively involved in the community and highlight some of my experience as follows:
Involvement with Community Organisations:
·  2003-2007 – Active Councillor representing Coleford East on the Coleford Town Council
·  2000-2007 – Member of Switched On managing all aspects of marketing and promotion for Coleford Music Festival
·  2002-2005 – Member of the Coleford Area Partnership and produced two copies of ‘The Coleford Guide’ – a tourism publication for the town
·  2008-Present – Director of Music Industry Services Community Interest Company (Community Equipment Resource and Youth Music Project)
·  2009-Present – Member of the Forest Youth Workers Network
Represents Council:
Represents the Council on Amenities, Finance/ Office and Planning Committees.
Achievements aimed for Town:
My particular areas of interest for the town of Coleford are currently:
·        Provision of activities for the Youth
·        Town Centre Regeneration
·        Events and Tourism
·        Greater consultation between the Council and our Parishioners
