Cllr Ian Baird
Background Information:
Iain was born in Gloucestershire and moved to Berry Hill with his wife and three boys in 1987. Iain teaches locally, as does his wife. All three sons went through the local school system. Iain has served on West Dean Parish Council, has supported local Scout groups. Iain has led a Forest based Kenya school exchange project since 2002, with Lakers, Dene Magna and Newent schools.

Represents the Council on Halls Charity.
Achievements aimed for Town:
I am keen to provide facilities for Coleford youngsters and to involve them in local decision-making processes. Too often we hear people say “Why don’t they do something about it ?”. I will support residents who want to do something for themselves.
I am passionate about the need for young people to learn how to live sustainably and am keen to promote any projects or ideas to achieve this aim.
I am also keen to see the shopping areas of Coleford become attractive and interesting for visitors and residents, as this will bring much needed money into the town.
